*Pranayama, loosely translated as breath work or breath control, is the practice of directing the life force energy or prana through specific breathing techniques. Depending on the technique, benefits may include a sense of balance, grounding, renewed vigor, enhanced blood oxygenation, and decreased stress. We will be guiding gentle breath work practices; however, please consult your healthcare provider before participating if you have any healthcare conditions that may be affected, such as lung disease, heart disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure or uncontrolled hyperthyroidism.
**Forest bathing, or Shinrin-Yoku is a therapeutic modality originating in Japan that broadly means mindfully taking in the beautiful forest atmosphere through all of one’s senses. This is not simply a quiet, relaxing walk in the woods, but a contemplative practice of being immersed in the sights, sounds, and aromas of Vermont’s autumn forest splendor.
