The Bennington Garden Club will host “Growing for the Gardener” at the Manchester Community Library on April 11th at 1PM, a program presented by eminent garden designer and propagator, Helen O’Donnell. As a co-owner of The Bunker Farm in Dummerston, Vermont, Helen sells a wide range of rare, unusual, and tried-and-true plants which she mainly grows from seed obtained from private growers and the finest catalogs in England and the US. Helen says, “I grow for the intrepid gardener”.
In this presentation she will highlight her greenhouse growing practices, her unique plant choices, and how to plant them successfully in Vermont. She will also share some of her exciting garden design projects that showcase new plants and new combinations. Her designs are tailored to each client but always reflect her enthusiasm and joy for gardening. Her work has been featured in “Gardenista”, “Plinth et al”, “Gardens Illustrated” and “Martha Stewart Living” among other publications.
