Many people are surprised to learn that Norman Rockwell used real people as the models for his paintings. Pawling, New York author Stephen T. Haggerty has a unique perspective; He interacted with models on a daily basis. With them, Haggerty hayed meadows and swam in the Battenkill River under a red covered bridge. Rockwell’s former white 1792 Colonial and studio stood in the background. S.T. Haggerty will give a PowerPoint slide presentation on his new book, Norman Rockwell’s Models, In and Out of the Studio in which he will present slides of Rockwell paintings along with home photos of the models who posed in West Arlington, Vermont.
