GMALL Presents – Old Manchester, Vermont Maps

Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning (GMALL) is excited to partner with the Manchester Historical Society to present this talk about old maps of Manchester, VT. Join Manchester Historical Society Curator Shawn Harrington for an engaging evening looking at maps dating from 1856 to 1869 and into the early 1900s. What can we learn from these maps? How do we read them? What records of history do they hold? How accurate were they? He will share the changes in the landscape and streetscape, where people lived, worked, and played. Explore the areas that were highlights of the Victorian era Manchester, and what these places look like today. Registration for this program is free, however, advance registsration is appreciated.
