Whether it’s just-picked produce, yummy baked goods, melt-in-your-mouth meats and cheeses or unique crafts and beauty products you’re after, you’ll find them—and lots more—at the Manchester Farmers Market, held rain or shine every Thursday through October 3, 2019 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. in Adams Park, located on Main Street (7A) at the corner of Center Hill Road in Manchester Center. As a weekday market, there is ample parking in the Gringo Jack’s lot across the street and on surrounding streets. The Manchester Farmers Market accepts credit and debit cards, EBT and Farm to Family coupons. The Manchester Farmers Market is producer-only, meaning that every one of the more than 30 vendors must have had a direct hand in making the food or crafts they sell. Always a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, the market also features outstanding live music each week. The market is also a family favorite for its special kids’ programs. Art Farm, a supervised tent where children make free agriculture-inspired crafts will run from June 27 through August 29. Another favorite is PoP Club, which stands for Power of Produce. Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and ping pong. Players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball, over a net. The sport shares features of other racquet sports, the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules similar to tennis, with a few modifications. Come learn this popular and growing sport for the first time or join us for a refresher in this beginner clinic taught by Ivo Ljubibratic. Paddles will be provided. Clinic #2 will meet on Thursdays, July 18, 25, August 1, 8. Ivo Ljubibratic is the head tennis pro at Equinox Resort and Spa in Manchester Village. He winters in Florida where he is a tennis instructor. He has led introductory pickleball clinics for GMALL for the past three years.
FREE PRE-CONCERT TALK 6:45 PM YESTER HOUSE, SOUTHERN VERMONT ARTS CENTER Artistic Director Adam Neiman invites the community to join him prior to Thursday evening concerts for talks exploring the musical and socio-historical context that influenced the composers of this evening’s pieces.
