The Town of Manchester is hosting another year of Independence Day Celebrations at the Dana L. Thompson Memorial Park. Festivities will include FREE swimming at the pool, the Misty Blues Band capped off by a Fireworks show at dusk (approximately 9:30pm). Delicious food and snacks will be available for purchase at Chief’s Concession Stand. Whether it’s just-picked produce, yummy baked goods, melt-in-your-mouth meats and cheeses or unique crafts and beauty products you’re after, you’ll find them—and lots more—at the Manchester Farmers Market, held rain or shine every Thursday through October 3, 2019 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. in Adams Park, located on Main Street (7A) at the corner of Center Hill Road in Manchester Center. As a weekday market, there is ample parking in the Gringo Jack’s lot across the street and on surrounding streets. The Manchester Farmers Market accepts credit and debit cards, EBT and Farm to Family coupons. The Manchester Farmers Market is producer-only, meaning that every one of the more than 30 vendors must have had a direct hand in making the food or crafts they sell. Always a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, the market also features outstanding live music each week. The market is also a family favorite for its special kids’ programs. Art Farm, a supervised tent where children make free agriculture-inspired crafts will run from June 27 through August 29. Another favorite is PoP Club, which stands for Power of Produce.
