Family-Friendly Manchester, Vermont

There is so much for families to see, do, and experience in Manchester Vermont! We’ve put together a list of some great places to stay, adventures to have, and a couple of our favorite family-friendly dining establishments. Enjoy your visit!

Where to Stay

Aspen at Manchester –

Aspen at Manchester offers a variety of homey, comfortable lodging accommodations to suit all your family’s vacation needs. Their spacious grounds encompass nine acres and include a swimming pool, shuffleboard courts, lawn games, a variety of sitting areas, beautiful landscaping, and wooded paths— something for everyone!

Hampton Inn Manchester

Centrally-located in downtown Manchester, Hampton Inn Manchester is within walking distance to local shops, retail outlets, and restaurants. A pizza place, ice cream stand, Burmese takeout, and a pinball arcade are all moments away. The property offers both traditional rooms and studio suites all under one roof with plenty of room for the family to spread out. Outdoor seating areas with a fire pit and a crystal clear indoor pool check off all of the boxes for a fantastic stay!

Seesaw’s Lodge

Seesaw’s Lodge is a destination built on a century-old tradition of community and camaraderie. Located just up the mountain from Manchester and adjacent to Bromley Mountain, this unique property offers a variety of lodging options. Have a whole place for your family when you rent one of their beautiful and historic cabins like ‘The Coop’- a former chicken coop turned luxury retreat!

Fun to Have

Dana Thompson Memorial Park

Explore the 88 acres of Dana Thompson Memorial Park home to Manchester’s new Skate Park! There are three playgrounds for kids of all ages, a one-mile walking path, a dog park, outdoor basketball courts, and three tennis courts. The newly constructed Rail Trail begins in the northeast corner of the Park and leads past Riley Rink for an approximately 3-mile trail through fields and forests and over bridges.

Hildene, the Lincoln Family Home

The breathtaking Hildene, the Lincoln Family Home, is located on 400-acres in Manchester Village and offers amazing grounds, trails, gardens, informative tours, and historical exhibits. But let’s be honest, our favorite thing to do at Hildene is to visit the baby goats on their goat farm!

Manchester Farmers Market

On Thursday afternoons, Adams Park comes alive with the Manchester Farmers Market! From May to October local farmers, artisans, and food makers, fill the park. It’s a producer-only market, where vendors are involved in every aspect of the making process so a great opportunity to ask questions while sampling products and packing a bag to bring home.

Manchester Riverwalk –

As you explore the town, enjoy the Manchester Riverwalk from Factory Point Town Green. Visitors are able to sit and relax to the gentle trills and burbles of the water, admire the waterfall, listen to birdsong, walk alongside the river in the shade of the overhanging trees, and wonder at the microclimates along the paths … all the while being right in the center of downtown Manchester!

What to Eat

Al Ducci’s Italian Pantry –

A visit to Al Ducci’s on Depot Street recalls neighborhood markets of days gone by. Cases are filled with authentic, made-from-scratch Italian foods and pantry shelves are stocked with imported goods and ingredients. Enjoy everything from salads, pastas, cured meats, gourmet cheeses, freshly baked semolina, ciabatta, pizza, amazing lasagna, daily specials, and more… and grab an Italian cookie for the road. Buon appetito!

Johnny Seesaw’s Restaurant at Seesaw’s Lodge offers fresh fare rooted in tradition– simple inventive food with deep connections to the surrounding area and the inn’s heritage. Incorporating local ingredients with a fresh twist, their menu celebrates Vermont and elevates comfort food. Currently, Seesaw’s is open for pick up Wednesday – Saturday for dinner. Be sure to ask about their take-out growlers, wine & cocktail specials!

Raven’s Den Steakhouse

Raven’s Den Steakhouse is a fast-casual steakhouse where everything is made from scratch and patrons can expect great food, great service, and a great atmosphere at a reasonable price. With tender and juicy Black Angus steaks, grass-fed burgers, classic seafood dishes, a salad bar stocked with seasonal produce, and freshly baked bread, there is something for everyone in your family to enjoy.

Known for its fantastic food and drinks, Union Underground is a great place to relax and grab a bite with your family. Kids will love the menu and parents can enjoy a variety of drafts on tap from breweries around the area. A unique experience not to be missed!
