The USDA Forest Service, Green Mountain National Forest is holding a public open house meeting for the proposed Velomont Trail – Manchester Ranger District project on Thursday, July 25, 4:30-6pm, at the Manchester Community Library. The Velomont Trail is envisioned as a non-motorized multiple-use trail eventually running the length of Vermont. This project focuses on the portion of the trail proposed to cross the Manchester Ranger District starting in the Dorset area and departing the forest in the town of Wilmington. Manchester District Ranger Martina Barnes and other Forest Service staff will give a brief presentation on the proposed project, answer questions, and seek input to identify potential resource concerns for consideration to improve the overall project design. An option to attend virtually is also planned.
