The funniest play that will ever make you cry, STEEL MAGNOLIAS is set in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where six friends gather for hairdos, manicures, juicy gossip, and witty banter in Truvy’s salon. Anybody who’s anybody is a regular: there’s the doting M’Lynn and her prettiest-girl-in-town daughter, Shelby, the new girl Annelle, resident curmudgeon Ouiser, and the eccentric widow Clairee. Through thick and thin, these women form friendships as strong as steel – friendships they are forced to lean on when tragedy strikes.
