The Rupert Kittay Library is pleased to welcome John Pelton, a local snowshoe racer on Sunday,
January 19th at 2:00 PM for a Snowshoe discussion. John has raced in the National Snowshoe Racing
Championships in California, Massachusetts, New York, Wisconsin, Oregon and Vermont.
He has participated in the Senior Winter Games in Vermont. John will be sharing his snowshoeing experiences,
stories and pictures . He also will have examples of old snowshoes, recreational snowshoes and racing snowshoes.
He will be sharing websites and talk about local weekend races and suppliers.
This program will also be the beginning of the snowshoe program at the Kittay Library. The Library has 4 pairs of snowshoes, 2 children and 2 adult that will be available to check out by Rupert Kittay Library patrons. They are
recreational snowshoes donated to the Library by RISE Vermont. Details for the program will be at the library and on the website http://www.rupertkittaylibrary.org after the program.
