Romeo and Juliet director Nora Gair says, “In this modern staging, two feuding families- one local, the other summer people – from very different sides of the tracks clash in a small town in Southern Vermont. Each has a young daughter – one Romeo, the other Juliet. The sacrifices they are forced to make for the chance to be together set everything tumbling towards the unforgettable tragic conclusion of the most famous romance of all time.”
Shakespeare in the Woods is an unconventional outdoor classical theatre festival in the heart of Southern Vermont. Each production seeks to deliver a professional caliber celebration of classical text through a socially aware lens, all while embracing Vermont’s natural offerings.
Shakespeare in the Woods is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization.
