Shakespeare in the Woods, a local professional outdoor theatre company producing new adaptations of William Shakespeare’s scripts each summer here in Manchester, invites you to join us for a reading club event focused on the two 2024 season shows: Twelfth Night: Or What You Will and Macbeth! Join cast members of SitW’s 2024 Season for an evening of community and lively discussion around these Shakespearean texts and themes. To participate, we suggest reading Shakespeare’s original plays and/or SitW’s new adaptations (available for PDF download). At the event, we’ll provide prompts to kick off conversation about what themes outlast time and what pulls the stories into our contemporary world and lives, as well as dive into the differences of reading Shakespeare on the page vs performing it live. All ages welcome, no previous familiarity with the specific plays (or Shakespeare) necessary!
