Noted Vermont landscape photographer Seline Skoug will be exhibiting her photographs at Arlington’s Canfield Gallery from January 21st to February 12th. The show will open the 2020 season for the gallery, with an artist reception to be held on Saturday, January 25th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
Titled “Back Roads,” the exhibition features landscapes photographed on rural roads throughout the Battenkill and surrounding valleys. The images highlight Skoug’s signature approach to her subject matter, capturing images as she travels through the landscape. Her approach has produced a collection of images that paint an intimate view of the working landscape of Bennington and Washington counties. Critics have described Skoug’s work as having a serene, painterly quality, enhanced by the soft, matte quality of the archival pigments and vellum finish rag paper they are printed on. All works in the exhibit will be available for sale.
The gallery is located in The Martha Canfield Memorial Library
