Local architect Bill Badger, president of the Rutland Railroad Historical Society and board member of the Manchester Historical Society, will present an illustrated program on the stations of the Bennington and Rutland Railroad, later the Rutland Railroad, from Rutland to Bennington. Built in 1852-53 as the Western Vermont Railroad, the tracks are still operated by Vermont Rail System for freight service with occasional passenger excursions. At one time each town had a station, or several stations, and Bill will show pictures and give a bit of history of each.
