Pinch Pots and Olla Irrigation with Master Gardner Kyle

June 6 @ 11:00am-12:00pm
Free

Could 4,000 year old technology still be the best way to water your plants? Join Master Gardener Kyle to make clay Olla (pronounced oh-yah) pots that you can use in your very own garden. Then pick up a free copy of Indigenous Ingenuity by Deidre Havrelock, courtesy of the National Endowment for the Arts Big Read Grant, to learn about more ancient technology we still use today.

Ages 6+

This event has been made possible through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Big Read. NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. The goals of the NEA Big Read are to inspire meaningful conversations, celebrate local creativity, elevate a wide variety of voices and perspectives, and build stronger connections in each community.

MCL and MFFC’s NEA Big Read Project, “Building Hope and Connection Through Our Landscape,” focuses on bringing the people of the Northshire together at the intersection of nature and community.
