Northshire Manchester: Local Author Spotlight

This is an in person event at our Manchester store.
Three local authors will join us to sign copies of their latest books. The attending authors are:
Jill Coupe – Gemma Sommerset
As a teenager in the 1950s attending summer camp in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Gemma Sommerset, from Lynchburg, Virginia, is given a glimpse of her future self-a woman capable of accomplishing just about anything. But when her parents nix her plans for graduate study in Paris, she ends up marrying her college boyfriend. With her father’s help, she publishes a few local travel articles, but an ambitious trip to Carmel, California, changes her life in ways she’d never anticipated. A literary fiction about a resilient woman, Gemma Sommerset-the third novel from IPPY-award-winning novelist Jill McCroskey Coupe-shows it’s never too late to follow your dreams.
Simon Shadows – Overwhelm
Overwhelm is a collection of 5 short, illustrated horror stories, the debut release from queer and trans author Simon Shadows, Spanning genres from hard science fiction to creepypasta-inspired horror to alternate-historical fantasy, Overwhelm asks the question of what will happen when characters come into contact with forces much larger than themselves. Will our characters be subsumed or transformed? Explore the edges of reality in strange new worlds and worlds eerily familiar
Gregory Vail – The Soft Mud of France
The Soft Mud of France is the life story of World War I fighter pilot, Lt. William H. Vail, 95th Aero Squadron, France, 1918, his saving of another pilot’s life, for which he was awarded the Purple Heart, Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star, and recommended for the Medal of Honor–that nomination lost 107 years ago, an injustice which his son–the author–is seeking to redress today
