The Dorset Library is pleased to announce an exhibition of the work of two talented local artists for
the month of January.
Anharad Llewelyn and Hakan Brosnan teach Visual Art at Long Trail School in Dorset. They have
developed a powerful art program, specializing in Drawing, Painting, Art History, Ceramics, and
Graphic Design. Llewelyn and Brosnan also co-teach the International Baccalaureate Visual Art
program at Long Trail.
Anharad Llewelyn has developed a style of using colorful collage papers layered into her vibrant
paintings to express her love of the natural world. She is especially interested in painting
(watercolor, acrylic and encaustic techniques), and also enjoys ceramics, working out of her
studio in her 1850 village home in Manchester. Hakan Brosnan has been exploring the world of
sculpture making from a young age. After studying Art and graduating with a BFA, Hakan
worked with various not-for-profit organizations, exposing him to a spectrum of mediums,
artists, and techniques.
In addition to Anharad’s paintings and Hakan’s ceramics, there is a large variety of hand knitted
hats, cowls, sweaters and scarfs for sale at the Library, all crafted by the Dorset Knitters group.
