Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning (GMALL) welcomes Brett Stokes, Director of the Center for Justice Reform Clinic at Vermont Law School, to talk about the complexities of immigration law. Professor Stokes will provide an overview of U.S. immigration laws, highlighting different paths to gaining lawful status in the United States and applying for critical humanitarian relief. He will facilitate a discussion on the implications of current (and perceived) immigration issues and the vital role that local communities can play in assisting noncitizen communities. This session will not only illuminate the pressing legal and political tensions surrounding migration but also encourage participants to consider ways to engage compassionately and effectively with those in need. Registration is $22 per person. For more information or to register, please call 802-867-0111 or visit our website at greenmtnacademy.org.
