Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning (GMALL) is excited to partner with the Manchester Historical Society to present this talk about the history of postcards of Manchester, VT. Postcards, once highly regulated by the government and utilitarian in their purpose, came into their heyday in the early 20th century once photographs and artwork were used. Manchester, being a destination resort area, used postcards to promote the area’s beauty and amenities, and thousands were produced and sold. Join MHS curator Shawn Harrington for a look at a collection of his favorite postcards, some with very rare imagery of the Village, Depot, Center, and the mountain towns. Registration for this program is free, however, registsration is needed so that we may send you the Zoom link.
