Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning (GMALL) welcomes Galen Jackson, Assistant Professor of Political Science at Williams College, and facilitator Brian Suslak to talk about the threat of cyber attacks. What are we dealing with? Many analysts and policymakers argue that the advent of digital technologies—and their weaponization—have fundamentally transformed international politics. Indeed, some experts have gone so far as to compare the impact of cyberweapons to the effects of the nuclear revolution. Skeptics on the other hand consider the cyber threat overblown. This discussion will lay out the specific claims made by both sides and explore a brief comparison of nuclear weapons.
