It’s October — World Series season — and right in the middle of the most exciting games in baseball, Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning (GMALL) is featuring a conversation between Jim Kaat, a veteran All Star and Hall of Famer, and a distinguished historian of the game from UNC, Matt Andrews. These aficionados will talk about baseball’s rich and complex history, including an in-depth look at the desegregation of Major League Baseball. Going beyond Jackie Robinson’s story, their discussion will explore the struggles, tensions, and triumphs of Black and Latino players who broke barriers and transformed the game and how America’s pastime has played an important role in our history. Registration is $20 per person. For more information or to register, please call our office at 802-867-0111 or visit greenmtnacademy.org.
