Glass Garden Gems: Fused Plant Stakes

Participants will create two beautiful, fused glass plant stakes—perfect for brightening flowerpots, garden beds, or gifting to a fellow plant lover. Begin with a clear glass base and explore how to safely cut and arrange colorful glass pieces into a unique design of your own. This workshop offers a fun and creative experience for both beginners and experienced makers.
What’s Included:
– Plant stake base and colorful glass to make you own unique design
– Step‑by‑step instruction and inspiration
– Kiln firing (off-site)
Please wear closed toe shoes to the class. Plant stakes will be fired in a kiln after class and will be available for pick up within a week.

About the Artist:
Stacy Gates owned and taught at Manchester Arts, concentrating in ceramics, fused glass and textile & fiber arts. She has taught art and fine crafts to both adults and children for more than 25 years. As an artist and maker, Stacy works in a variety of mediums, as she is fascinated by color, texture and pattern. Her current obsession is fused glass, and she has been creating and teaching this for more than five years. In addition to her own art, Stacy is passionate about helping others find or rekindle their creativity through art and working with their hands. Stacy has a BA in Psychology and Business from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University. In addition to her formal education, she studied sewing and fashion in NYC and has taken many classes and workshops in numerous art and craft fields. She has recently moved to Florida but still lives with her husband, David, in Manchester Center, VT during the summer months.
