Elliott Greenblott returns to The Manchester Community Library in the second of three events on recognizing and avoiding fraud. In Coming to a Computer Near You, Elliot will address the why, how and basic defense regarding scams perpetrated over the internet. This presentation addresses the latest cyber threats and as well as how to recognize malicious eMails and pop-ups and Wi-Fi issues arising from the increased use of tablets and smartphones. Discover how habits and behaviors put you at risk. Recognize the strategies and tactics used by con artists to defraud. Know and practice the most effective prevention strategies to avoid becoming a victim, recognize the “red flags”. Learn how to access and share up-to-date information about fraud identification and prevention and where to go if you or someone you love has been a victim.
Elliot Greenblott is the Coordinator of The Fraud Watch Network at AARP Vermont. He provides educational programs throughout Vermont and neighboring states on fraud and scams and has been published recently in The Brattleboro Reformer, The Berkshire Eagle, The Bennington Banner, and The Manchester Journal.
