Family Program: Ferdinand the Bull

July 19 @ 11:00am-12:00pm

The ideal introduction to the beauty and enjoyment of the performing arts, Manchester Music Festival’s Family Programs invite young people and their grownups to discover the world of chamber music together.

Inspired by American author Munro Leaf’s best-loved book, The Story of Ferdinand (1936), British composer Alan Ridout penned his musical adaptation for violin and reader in 1971. Violinist Philip Setzer will perform Ridout’s appealing score, with actor Linda Setzer narrating the tale of the peace-loving bull who delighted in a sunny, fragrant meadow (July 19).
