Get your creative juices flowing and make a difference in your community! Mother Myrick’s Confectionery is thrilled to announce the return of its beloved Annual Easter Egg Decorating Contest — a fun-filled family tradition that also supports Neighbor to Neighbor Vermont, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping elderly and housebound citizens in Southern Vermont stay independent with no-cost volunteer services.
Whether you’re a seasoned artist or trying egg decorating for the first time, this contest is for you. Contestants can decorate one hollowed-out egg however they wish — you can even build a larger scene around your egg! Entries will be judged in four age categories, with First, Second, and Third Place prizes awarded in each.
The overall Grand Prize winner will receive “AnnaBelle,” a massive hand-decorated chocolate bunny filled with jelly beans, Easter candy, and other surprises. Think of her as a giant chocolate piñata, valued at $275! Additional chocolate bunny prizes will be awarded to each age category winner.
The Library will host open egg decorating from 11 AM to 3 PM in the Young Adult Loft on both Saturday, April 5 and Saturday, April 12. All ages are welcome, supplies will be provided, and contest entry fees will be covered by the Library.
