DEMYSTIFYING THE SARI
September 10, 2022 @ 2:00pm-3:00pm

Border&Fall’s Malika Verma explores the beauty, adaptability and fluidity of an iconic garment.
The sari and its various drapes will be shared through the acclaimed cultural documentation ‘The Sari Series: An Anthology of Drape’. Visit www.thesariseries.com to know more and join us to learn, drape and partake!
Engaged with evolving design languages, Malika’s work intersects craft, cultural identity and aesthetics. A vocal advocate for India’s design and craft communities, she is the Founder of Border&Fall – a strategic agency shifting perceptions of Made in India. She is a contributing editor for Architectural Digest India, an Advisory Member of the Kalhath Institute in Lucknow, India, and served on the Advisory Council for ‘Designing Motherhood’ (2021) and ‘Items: Is Fashion Modern?’ (MoMA, 2017).
In 2017 Border&Fall created and produced ‘The Sari Series: An Anthology of Drape’, a digital cultural documentation of India’s regional sari drapes. An open resource which continues to engage via #TheSariSeries, it was shortlisted for the 2020 Design Museum’s Beazley Designs of the Year.
