Join Us to celebrate a “Day in the Dirt” and kick-off the growing season on the Community Farm!
We will focus our Day in the Dirt activities in our Education Garden where we will prep raised garden beds for future planting, wood chip aisles, add compost, plant seeds, mulch, and divide perennials.
The Education Garden space will be used by area elementary school students and our very own Danby Mountain Day Camp campers. Let’s get this space ready for all the growing and learning that will happen here with our local area youth!
Tools and directions will be provided. We have some garden gloves to share and will have a cooler with water. There will be signs from the parking lot to direct you to the Education Garden space. Parking will be in the lot closer to the two white buildings at 426 Danby Mountain Road.
The community seed box will be filled with seeds to take for your home gardens. Bring seeds to share and swap! We will set up a table with envelopes and markers to allow folks to take just a few seeds instead of full packets.
“Day in the Dirt” is a statewide event coordinated by the incredible folks at Vermont Community Garden Network in Burlington. To see photos and learn more about the statewide event visit: https://vcgn.org/day-in-the-dirt/
