The Manchester Community Library is proud to announce the return of The Gallery at the MCL, a space for the exhibition of original works by local and regional artists, with Dhwani/Resonance, an exhibition of the work of DAISY ROCKWELL. Join us for an evening of art, music, wine, and nibbles. Although the exhibit will run through September 17th, for one night only art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to speak with the artist about her style, inspiration, and process as she leads the curious on a specialized tour of her pieces. This is an opportunity not to be missed.
Daisy Rockwell has art in her blood – art and literature. Hailing from a family of artists, Daisy describes herself as a painter who took a detour into academia, reemerging with the PhD in South Asian Languages. As both an artist and a translator of Hindi and Urdu literature, she incorporates each into the other. Daisy’s work has been exhibited in Bennington, Philadelphia, New York City, Dallas, Chicago, and San Francisco as well as in Ontario, Canada and Goa, India. She has translated short stories, poetry and novels, and has been shortlisted for the International Booker Prize for her work on Tomb of Sand.
