Opening Day Announcement from Bromley President & GM, Josh Witkin:
Bill Cairns had been GM of this great mountain for over 10 years, and last season was his last as Bromley’s chief steward. He’s left me that responsibility which weighs heavily on my shoulders now. One of his many legacies was building an incredible snowmaking operation. The importance of giving our guests the best possible snow conditions was paramount to Bill. A very valuable pearl of wisdom from him is that if we are patient, if we create the base that we normally do, our ski season will have the Bromley snow that our guests expect.
Like most things in life, creating a proper foundation will have lasting effects. It would have been nice for Mother Nature to give us slightly colder temps in our base over the last week, but her kindness was limited to the top of the mountain. From a distance, you’ll see that our trails look covered but unfortunately, not our base. Therefore, we are going to do what’s right and give our mountain the time it needs to set us up for a great season. Our temps look good for the week ahead and our new projected opening date will be Thursday, 12/5. We anticipate being open top-to-bottom and we’ll continue to make snow throughout the next week. We’ll start at the top over the next few nights and when temps drop, we’ll blast the lower mountain/base area. We can’t wait for opening day, and we’ll see you soon!
