Banned Books Week Screen Printing Workshop
Get creative and take a stand for the freedom to read! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the art of screen printing while making your own item inspired by Banned Books Week. Whether you’re new to screen printing or already love DIY art, you’ll leave with a bold, meaningful design that celebrates the power of books and ideas.
Please bring an item to screen print on. It could be a t-shirt, a tote bag, or a poster board! This is an all-ages workshop.
Why Banned Books Week Matters:
Each year, libraries, schools, and readers across the country come together during Banned Books Week to highlight the harms of censorship and to celebrate the right to seek and share stories freely. Books that challenge us—whether through new perspectives, complex ideas, or underrepresented voices—are often the ones most at risk of being banned or challenged. By engaging with these works and speaking up for them, we affirm the vital importance of free expression and open access to information in our communities.
Join us to create, connect, and show your support for intellectual freedom—because everyone deserves the right to read.
