The Canfield Gallery will present an exhibit of works by Vermont landscape photographer Seline Skoug in its
opening exhibition of 2020. The show will run from January 21st to February 12th, with an artist reception to
be held on Saturday, January 25th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.

Seline Skoug’s opening exhibition features landscapes seen from backroads throughout the Battenkill and
surrounding valleys. Her photographs are notable for their sensitive treatment of light and authentic sense of
place. While she focuses primarily on landscapes, her images are very different from the typical scenes seen
on postcards and calendars. Instead, she explores the margins between season, space and time of day. Critics
have described her images as having a serene, painterly quality, evoking quiet moments in a working
landscape. She has exhibited regionally in group and individual shows and her work hangs in homes across
the United States.
