Armchair Travel Series: Japan, A Teacher’s Perspective

February 23, 2020 @ 4:00pm-5:30pm

Free

Teacher Maureen Chaffee will share her experiences and photos of Japan, where she toured Osaka, Hiroshima, Miyajima Island, Kyoto and had brief visits to Tokyo, Mt. Fuji, and Shikoku Island, during a three week trip to Japan with the University of Vermont’s Asian Studies Outreach Program. She visited two Elementary schools, a 0-5 school, and a middle/high school while there. The goal of ASOP was to introduce Asian culture, history, teaching styles, art and more into American classrooms by providing teachers with direct interaction and experience with the Asian continent. Free and open to the public.
