Hildene invites all ages to come celebrate the first birthday of Jack, the alpaca born at Hildene a year ago. The birthday celebration features a variety of activities and treats for everyone. Guests will have the opportunity to meet Alpaca Jack and his animal friends up close in the barnyard. The event will also offer complimentary apple cider, Wilcox ice cream, and cider donuts. Children and adults alike can participate in engaging craft activities and gather for an alpaca-themed story time, making it an ideal family outing.
There will also be tractor-drawn wagon rides looping through the dene, so riders can see all that is there, including the floating boardwalk, the apiary, the greenhouse, and orchard.
The party will take place at Hildene Farm in the dene. The event is free with admission to Hildene. There is no need to register in advance, just come to the Welcome Center to obtain your admission sticker before proceeding to the event area.
Parking is at the Welcome Center. For those looking to fully experience the beauty of Hildene, guests can choose to walk the scenic one-mile Maple Trail, which takes approximately 25 minutes and offers lovely views. Alternatively, van and tram services are available to transport visitors to the dene.
