Artists at the Table is a new dinner series at Southern Vermont Arts Center’s curATE Café, where the gallery meets the dining room. Each event invites artists currently on view to connect with the community over a shared, art-inspired meal. Guests can engage with the creative voices behind SVAC’s exhibitions, hear directly from the artists, and explore the dialogue between food and art.

For each dinner, Head Chef Julie Heins crafts a seasonal menu inspired by the featured artwork, highlighting connections between flavor, color, texture, and artistic sensibility.

This edition celebrates artist Tom Fels, featured in On Paper, an exhibition exploring the expressive potential of paper through printmaking, drawing, collage, and mixed media. Fels is an American artist, curator, and art historian whose work has been shown internationally and is held in major museum collections. His recent focus on large-format cyanotype photography—camera-less prints created through direct interaction with natural forms—has earned acclaim across the U.S. and abroad.

Curator Danny Volk will also join the dinner, offering insights into the exhibition and guiding conversation to deepen the connection between studio practice, curatorial vision, and community engagement.
