Visit beautiful vistas, an international woodworking facility, the oldest abandoned marble quarry in the U.S., quintessential VT villages, a 5-star historic inn and more! Other interesting destinations depend on weather conditions for any given day. You will learn interesting facts, stories and history while traveling the country backroads in a 10 -passenger tour vehicle. (4 -passenger SUV for smaller groups). Join us on Thursday, January 24th at 6:00 p.m. as Thomas Christopher Greene reads and discusses his novel The Perfect Liar. This Vermont novelist shares his new book about a seemingly-perfect marriage threatened by the secrets the husband and wife keep from each other and the sinister, anonymous notes which begin to regularly appear and point to a mysterious past. Mr. Greene is the author of several novels, including Mirror Lake; I'll Never Be Long Gone; Envious Moon; The Headmaster's Wife; and If I Forget You. His fiction has been translated into 13 languages and has won many awards and honors. In 2008, Tom founded Vermont College of Fine Arts, a top graduate fine arts college, making him the youngest college president in the country at that time. He lives and works in Vermont.
Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning (GMALL) is happy to welcome back artist and teacher Anharad Llewelyn to lead this sip and paint workshop. Come in from the cold and paint this wintery scene by artist Gregor Pratneker. Enjoy wine and cheese while Anharad leads you through the steps of good composition and color theory. You are guaranteed to have fun while sipping and painting your colorful masterpiece! The fee is $35 for the workshop and includes all materials.
