Southern Vermont Arts Center’s Fall Member Show Inside Out includes the work of SVAC’s artist members who represent a variety of styles and mediums: abstract, portrait, and landscape painters alongside photographers, sculptors, and other creators. There’s something for every taste, and all artwork is for sale. Free & open to the public. Suggested donation $5. The Arts Center is closed Mondays. The Dorset Players’ annual production for children and all those young at heart will be a delightful musical version of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” Performances at the Dorset Playhouse at 104 Cheney Road in Dorset, Vermont will be held on December 7 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. and on December 8, 9, 15 and 16 at 2:00 p.m. The Dorset Players are happy to once again present a musical rendering of a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. Carol Weiss’s wonderful adaptation of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” involves a powerful witch, a vain, jealous queen and her toadies, ladies-in-waiting, a magic mirror, the princess Snow White and her handsome prince, and, of course, seven dwarfs who help to save the day. Director Kevin O’Toole and Musical Director Michael Gallagher have marshaled a talented cast of six adults and eleven children from eight area towns. There are charming songs, colorful costumes, many laughs, and a happy ending for everyone. Well, almost everyone. The cast includes Billy Jamieson as Sir Pompous, Courtney Carter as the Queen, and Lillian Kelly as the Mirror. Family Gingerbread House Workshops December 9 & 11 4:30–6:30pm & 5:30–7:30pm Manchester Arts Studio One of the studio’s most popular events, and recently featured in The Boston Globe. Each group receives a pre-assembled house, a bowl of royal icing, and access to more than 20 different edible construction materials.
