The Vermont Humanities Council, the Manchester Community Library, and Northshire Bookstore are proud to present Catherine A Sanderson delivering a lecture entitled “There Is Nothing Either Good or Bad, But Thinking Makes It So” as part of Vermont Humanities’ First Wednesdays Series at the First Congregational Church of Manchester.
Is this famous quotation from Hamlet that serves as the title to her lecture true? Catherine A. Sanderson, Amherst College professor and author of The Positive Shift, outlines the significant difference we can make in our daily lives simply by adjusting our outlook.
Professor Sanderson has published more than 25 journal articles and book chapters in addition to five college textbooks, a high school health textbook, and a popular press book on parenting. In 2012, she was named one of the country’s top 300 professors by the Princeton Review. Professor Sanderson speaks regularly to public and corporate audiences on such topics as the science of happiness, emotional intelligence, the mind-body connection, and the psychology of good and evil.
Northshire Bookstore will be on hand selling copies of Catherine’s new book The Positive Shift: Mastering Mindset to Improve Happiness, Health, and Longevity.
