A FAMILY RUN MAGICAL INN
The Wilburton Inn is a majestic hilltop estate for families, romantics, artists, foodies, and leaders who transform the world.
Built in 1902 as Manchester’s largest gentlemen’s farm, the Wilburton is an expansive property that offers privacy, history and unsurpassed views of the green mountains. The 30-acre estate accommodates 150 guests for lodging and 175 people for dining celebrations.
In addition to romantic guest rooms in the Wilburton mansion, the property also includes 9 vacation homes ranging from a two-bedroom cottage, to a fifteen-bedroom mansion, that are ideal for reunions and retreats.
The restaurant serves a full country breakfast with hearth-baked breads from our organic farm. The chef caters elegant celebrations in our mansion’s Billiard Room. Join the Wilburton family in the summer for authentic farm to table dinners. The breathtaking views make the Wilburton an ideal venue for destination weddings. Relax in the outdoor pool or enjoy the tennis courts.
What makes the Wilburton truly unique is that it has been run with love by the Levis family for over 27 years. Each member shares their creativity and genuine hospitality with guests. Broadway bound playwright, Tajlei, pens annual murder mystery weekends based on the inn’s history. Award-winning children’s songwriter, Melissa, leads sing-alongs in the living room. Baker and farmer, Oliver, makes the daily bread.
INNKEEPERS WELCOME PARTY EVERY FRIDAY 6 – 7PM. All Wilburton Inn and vacation home guests are invited to the Wilburton Inn mansion to meet the Levis family innkeepers and mingle with the other guests. Please join us for refreshments and a warm welcome to begin your Vermont vacation.

"My wife and I visited the Wilburton Inn with our bulldog this December for a long weekend away from Boston. We had a great time staying in Manchester. The Wilburton is a great mix of stunning architecture, beautiful views, and hospitality. Owner, Melissa, met us when we arrived at the Wilburton Inn and was very warm and accommodating throughout our stay. It's great that we could bring our dog with us -- there is a lot of open space on the grounds, and we let him run off leash as we explored the acreage. The natural setting is great, and there are some really interesting sculptures and art everywhere. Our room was large, comfortable, and clean, and breakfast was great too! We also enjoyed being in Manchester. We've never been to VT before, and Manchester had everything from antique shops to high-end shopping, and many good restaurants as well. We'll definitely return!"CameraAndCarryOn (source)
The Wilburton is more than pet-friendly - we are pet celebrating! Our four-legged innkeeper Jetson loves welcoming all breeds to the Wilburton. Every Halloween weekend we host "Howl'oween Slumber Parties" with Canine Costume Balls and prizes for best-dressed pooch and no pet fees. Cavalier King Charles always stay free.
Yes it is! innkeeper and psychiatrist Dr. Albert Levis has created the Museum of the Creative Process on the grounds of the Wilburton Inn. The Easter Island head represents the sad wizard and father of all religions who despite their best intentions have not led the world to peace. Dr. Levis invites guests to walk the sculptural trail of 'How the World Got Wiser: the Secrets to Living Happily Ever After' and discover how religions have evolved alongside the struggle of the genders. Dr. Levis believes that with the help of Moral Science we can find harmony in the world and our hearts at last.
In a funny way - yes! I always loved The Sound of Music, but never imagined I'd grow up to be a singing Vermont innkeeper like the original Maria von Trapp! After 20 years as a musical theatre writer and children's rock star in New York City I am delighted to join my siblings and father and return to my childhood home of Manchester, Vt. Instead of writing songs for prime ministers, Off-Broadway and 5 year old fans, now I write songs for our guests.
We are very lucky to have a wonderful baker in our family! Oliver Levis and his wife Bonnie turned our childhood home in manchester into a vibrant organic farm and bakery. His wood fired oven comes from Barcelona and they bake 2000 loaves of bread and 750 veggie burgers every week! Flavors include Super Fruity, Stevie Wonder Bread and their new Bernie Sandwich pumpernickel in honor of our VT presidential hopeful! Watch the bread being made!
Guests are always surprised to see a Sisters Rosensweig poster in the living room of the Wilburton inn, but our mom Georgette was the inspiration for Madeleine Kahn's Tony Award-winning character, Gorgeous. Mom was featured with Wendy and her big sister Sandra in the book "Sisters." We love hearing from guests how much Wendy's plays meant to them.
