Northshire Bookstore

Inspiration for Every Age

Arguably one of the best independent bookstores out there, Northshire Bookstore boasts a friendly and knowledgeable staff, 10,000 square feet of display space, and a large children’s floor that could keep kids of all ages occupied for hours.

The building has a long history as a staple of Manchester; for more than a century it was home to the Colburn House, one of the area’s longest continuously operating inns. In 1976, the Northshire Bookstore was born, and it continues to run as our favorite family-owned bookshop to date!

Every nook is filled with special collections; books by subject, music and media, unique and memorable gift items, and cozy corners to get comfortable and enjoy. Visitors wander through shelves of poetry, paperbacks, cookbooks, best-sellers, local gifts, food, and more.

Just next door with open access on the Main Level is the super popular Spiral Press Cafe, so you don’t even need to leave the building for coffee, pastries, or lunch!

Praise
