Garlic John’s

Italian Cuisine in a Casual Setting.

A local favorite, Garlic John’s is a long-established chef-owned regional Italian restaurant located in the Southern Green Mountains minutes away from ski and golf resorts. A warm, inviting dining room accommodates small parties and groups, with dramatic views of Mount Equinox. Current owners Sue Anagnos and Frank Shattuck have been at the helm for 35 years.

The menu features classic dishes and house favorites, like the chicken & sausage scarpariello — capellini with chicken and sweet and hot sausage, sautéed red onions, pepperoncini, garlic and sweet red peppers — and the popular horseradish crusted salmon, finished with a tangy lemon-caper dill sauce.

Daily specials feature seasonal ingredients, and a full bar in a cozy anteroom offers a complete beer and wine list, plus custom cocktails and casual fare — signature burgers and grilled pizzas, which are also available in the dining room. Kids are always welcome, with their own menu, and coloring placements for a little fun!

Outside dining on the veranda is available during the summer months while the everyday dining room is cozy and comfortable all year round. From the chianti bottle-lined ceiling to the classic Italian dishes, you’ll enjoy a taste of the Old World at Garlic John’s and a friendly, relaxed environment.
