Barnstead Inn

State of VERMONT requirement for COVID19…. Out-of-state guests are welcome starting 6/22/2020

July 4th is not that far away! We had a wedding reschedule so our calendar has availability. Don’t you want the best seat in the house for the festivities?! Enjoy cocktails and small plates from Stonewall Tavern while you watch the fireworks! No stress of parking at the rec, just sit on our lawn or hill and enjoy!

The Barnstead Inn is quietly situated, yet just a leisurely stroll of two blocks from the Southern Vermont center of Manchester. This lodging property is loaded with warmth, hospitality and Vermont charm. Features locally sourced, farm-to-table, scratch-made Chef’s special of the day for breakfast.

14 wonderful rooms, spacious, yet cozy—each with private bath, air conditioning, cable television, individual thermostats, courtesy coffee, wireless Internet access, refrigerators, and comfortable beds, are all tucked into a New England carriage house built in the 1830s—its rugged, weathered beams remain as silent reminders of the past.

Guests at The Barnstead are just minutes from all area activities like skiing, shopping, dining, Mount Equinox, Hildene, and Emerald Lake State Park.

The property itself features a garden, terrace, and pool. A continental or buffet breakfast is available every morning at Barnstead.

Our newest addition, the Stonewall Tavern, is a boutique bar with a modern rustic vibe. We serve signature cocktails and craft beers with a light fare menu.  Plus our outdoor patio features a  fire pit to relax by, enjoy drinks and socialize. Local musicians perform live weekly.
We’ve also added the Local Market gift shop with vendors like Vermont Flannel Company, Dorset Daughters Skin Care, Dorset Maple Reserves syrup, Pitchfork Preserves and Barnstead Inn memorabilia.

Family-friendly, the staff at the inn love helping guests plan daily adventures into the surrounding Green Mountains.

"Exceeds our expectations!"
